The desire for weight loss has reached record numbers in the last 5 years. Currently more that 65 percent of American are over weight. The FDA has paid large amounts of money, configuring there reports of general information, that recommends programs and supply information to inform us we have a problem, and these reports provide advice.

In order to better deal with this problem on an individual basis, the facts and basic causes need to be clarified. Case studies showed the increased numbers of positive results were
with studies that brought the individual a better understanding of their disorder. In studies where individuals were less informed of there particular problem, the results were considerably lower.

Understanding your weight can be a more positive move in reaching your goal.  A greater percentage of individual, that set out to loose weight quit within the first 3 weeks.
With most of these cases it was a result of a lack of knowledge. Americans need to be better informed, they need to learn more about there particular issue, in order to move into a direction of real weight loss. More people are starting and signing up for weight loss programs and do not have a clew as to why they are overweight in the fists place.

"Knowledge is the key" We have all herd that phrase, and when weight loss or any health type of issue is being addressed  knowledge should be a priority.
Weight increase in the body generally takes place as a result of a disorder of some type. So how do you just start a program or take a dietary supplement, when you do not know
which disorder you are working with? Case studies have proven, that more weight disorders tend to get miss treated by people that do not try to locate the cause of there
Condition or disorder, in many cases causing negative progress.

Gerneral Weight Causes

Weight increase generally has a cause that will fall into one or more of these categories. So understanding your particular situation will help you move forward with loosing the
weight you no longer want. There are generally many factors, but remember that your body may be acting within several of these categories at the same time. This is why it is
important to understand that just finding a simple diet plan may help with a few pounds, but it may also cause other health related problems and will probably not work for any
kind of long-term goal. Some of these basic causes of weight gain are listed here but please remember this list is only for the general point being made here and should not be considered as a complete list of disorders that may apply.
So let’s look at these general causes.

  • What we are exposed to presently
  • Food preparation at home
  • Busy schedules resulting in bad dieting

Weight Loss Systems

Let’s refer to system as an individual part of a program designed specifically for one person. And a program as a group of several systems that are general and not specifically geared for any one person but for the overall purpose of loosing weight.

The body takes in food then breaks it down into several groups, how these groups or nutrients and byproduct are distributed through out the body is the information that we want to focus on here. Generally referred to as Metabolism. Learning how your body metabolizes food will help in understanding your particular disorder. Once this information is known then implementing a system and an overall program that will bring you closer to getting control over your weight problem is more likely.

Working with Weight Loss

It is important to work with a program that will help you gain this information. Knowing that one system worked well for someone else does not mean that the same system will work for you. Now please note that I stated system and did not state program. So if you are going to use the same program as someone you know just make sure that this program has a system that can be fitted to your individual needs. So with all this being said a starting point would be.

  • Realize that you have a weight problem
  • Know the health risks involved
  • Identify the cause or disorder source
  • Find a system and program that will work for you
  • Implement that system
  • Set goals based on your situation but keep them real so you stay with them
  • Understand that this may take time
  • Do not risk health for progress



Know that this is and should become a management plan that you will always be monitoring and working with. Weight loss can be an achievable goal, and should be treated as an ongoing project. Weight Loss or loosing weight does not have to be a miserable task. How you prepare yourself mentally for weight loss and how you apply your self will greatly determine your outcome. One important thing to remember is this. Understanding your situation, then taking even the smallest steps toward your goal, no mater how small, will get more long term results that most people that take on this process.
